What's the difference between art and design?

Design: Has a very specific meaning/conclusion that the viewer should come to based on a one line concept. The design should direct the viewers eye to go through the artwork in the correct order and it should clearly communicate based on where it will be displayed. ie if its going to be a small design then the text needs to be big and pop. The design needs to capture the look and feel of the company and stay consistent it all designs/artworks. The viewer should know instantly what the company is in the blink of an eye. A branding template can help with this and to help future designs be created quickly and keep branding design consistent.

Art: Leaves the interpretation up to the viewer, there can be a general idea or concept but it doesn,t need to be a single concept and there is more room for interpretation of the artwork.

Understanding the contract:

A contract is simply a document that outlines the expectations and requirements of both parties involved in a project. Having a contract in place before beginning work on a project offers several key-benefits:

• Helps to establish clear expectations with the client regarding the scope of work, timeline, and deliverables.
• Can be used as a reference point if there are disagreements about the project later on.
• 50% of the total cost is paid upfront before any work is started.
• The other 50% is paid on completion of the project.
• If the client pulls out then 25% of the initial amount will be returned if work has started.
• If the designer decides he doesn't want to move forward with the project then the full amount will be refunded.

There will be different stages of the project and each stage needs to be signed off.
Once the direction is agreed between the client and designer, based on the thumbnail sketches stage, then the the thumbnail is signed off on through email confirmation and the next stage of work is started for a first draft design.

If the client decides to go back to the drawing board after a direction was agreed on then an additional price will be added onto the project based on what is agreed upon before starting the project. (This amount needs to be paid at this stage of the project before going back to the drawing board). The client will get 3 thumbnail design options to choose from and make changes from there before moving onto the first draft.
